Simply Awesome Barbados
MegaWatt Message in a Face Book Bottle:

"Hi Jim, thanks the Megawatt is fun, still lots more to do it to make it better!
Hi Dan, ... the Mega is AWSM ... I have to admit that I don't know about electric cars but here's a dumb series of questions:
… In Barbados: What sources the power grid?
... Is electric service plentiful and affordable?
... How long does it take to recharge the Lithium cells and
... How big is your Electricity Bill?

Well the normal grid is powered by diesel imported from Trinidad, even using this dirty fuel it's still 4-5 times more efficient than using a Diesel engine in your car. However the 25 public charge points on the island are fed from enough solar to charge all 180 electric cars at once. Mines takes 30 mins to charge, using about 3.5kw, gets me 20miles taking it super easy, cost about 50c US. Using full throttle the range is 10x less however
(Jim Gould) … another dumb question: (With all the Lithium Cells), how much doe the Mega weigh?

45kg battery pack, weight 566kg on 4 bathroom scales, not sure how accurate that is but seems right."
The electric Westfield MegaWatt on the dyno along with a simple launch. Aiming for 600bhp/1000ftlbs.
